letter: dear proverbial fork in the road

you should really come with a sign or
some sort of warning that tells me i am approaching you...

are you just a false dilemma or
a mere bifurcation brought on by my
dramatic self?
are you a test of grown-up-ness?

no one makes quite as grand an entrance
at the most inopportune time
as you do...

so two things i've now got (besides pretty coral-coloured nail polish):
1. promotion
2. post-grad admission offer

neither comes with a sign that says
'guaranteed happiness, success, and satisfaction'...

so now what?
sigh.

golden

vancouver winter olympics 2010
canada finishes with the most gold medals
and third in the overall rankings!
i am so, so proud to be canadian
and not just because of all the wins,
but because every athlete that participated
especially those who won medals
showed incredible grace and humility.
they were truly inspiring!

GO CANADA!

letter: dear heart

to let go
is to be unselfish.

to be unselfish
is to love.

to love
is to let go.

(and so it goes...
so it goes...)

hear: say hello

let's say hello to september.

summer came and went so fast.
and since my last post:
i've assembled a bedframe,
gone to the zoo
(i got to pet stingrays!)
attended a beautiful, and oh so glamorous wedding
(complete with a photobooth!),
as well as a surprise engagement party,
where we also found out that our
girlfriend who tied the knot last year
is now a mommy-to-be at three months!

it was a lovely season.
and though gone are the sun-drenched days
that seem to go on forever
and the sun now sleeps earlier and earlier,
i hope the fall promises things that are just as lovely.
i kick it off in london, then the big apple
so really, how can it not be lovely?

and now, for some rosie thomas and sufjan stevens cover
(the most adorable of them all!) ...

would he hold me
and never let me go...
would he let me borrow his old winter coat...
